About Meg
WORDS
In addition to freelance food and travel writing for (mostly) American publications, I’m the proud mother of Paris by Mouth, a collaborative food & wine website that launched in June 2010 with more than 1000 pages about eating and drinking in Paris.
Because I get a huge amount of help from Assistant Editor Barbra Austin and our group of flabbergasting Contributing Editors, I still have time to work as the Paris Editor for Budget Travel and BlackBook, for whom I’ve written more than 500 reviews of restaurants, bars, hotels and shops. A good number of these appear in the BlackBook Jet Set Guide 2009: Paris, London, New York, Los Angeles and have been repackaged in a guide for Bravo TV. I’ve also contributed articles for SAVEUR, the BBC’s Olive magazine, the Wall Street Journal online, Gridskipper, Momondo, and the seat-pocket magazines of United, Virgin Trains, and Gulf Air. I’ve been featured in stories about Paris by CNN, Peter Greenberg’s Radio Show, Euranet Radio’s Europe Unzipped and Germany’s Stern and GEO Saison. A selection of favorite articles are listed below.
- Hemispheres Magazine, “Getting Fresh” (March 2009)
- Budget Travel, “Eating on the Wild Side” (November 2008)
- Wall Street Journal, “In Paris, Mastering the Art of Le Fooding” (May 2008)
- Gridskipper, “The Stunning Brasseries of Paris” (republished February 2009)
PHOTOS
I’m not a professional shutterbug, but I still have quite a few photos spread between my Flickr site and the pages of the New York Times T Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, Food & Wine, Libération and other friendly poachers.
ETC.
I organize Paris food tours for Context Travel and work as a private guide/location scout for individuals and production crews (most recently for the film Paper Heart starring Michael Cera and Charlyne Yi).
