Edible Advent Dec. 23
Today’s challenge as part of the Edible Advent Calendar:
Can you name this treat?
Leave your answer (product and location) in the comments section below. Hint: this shop has not yet been featured in the advent calendar and is in the 2nd arrondissement. The reader who has accumulated the most victories by December 24 will receive an edible Christmas present from me. I’ll keep your guesses hidden until the answer is revealed tomorrow on Budget Travel, then I’ll publish the comments and name the winner for this challenge.
YESTERDAY’S WINNERS: Those beautiful marrons glacés from Dalloyau were fingered by Lil, Food Snob, Zeva Bellel, Kelaine, Dawn and Sophie. Two points for them today. And Christopher, Janet, zabie Johnston, and Jamie Samons each pick up a point for identifying the candied chestnut but not the source. Bravo! The full description of this delicious thing can be found on the Budget Travel Paris Page.

Bûches de Noël from Stohrer
Adorable mini Buche de Noel at Stohrer?
Of course, bûches de Noël to bring us the festival spirits. Guessing on the flavours – marron glacé, matcha green tea, white chocolate (behind the green log), and regular chocolate?
Alas, 2nd arrondissement is not my usual haunt, and I’m in a rush to pack and leave so haven’t time to research further what the shop may be. A name immediately pop into mind is Stohrer but I am unable to verify through their website.
In the mean time, a couple of delicious Yule log blog posts to share

2) http://dessertfordinner.blogspot.com/2009/12/yuletide-logs.html
(Bummer though none of them feature the same bûches as those you’ve pictured)
Merry Christmas! And congratulations to Sophie/Kelaine (I think they must have scored highly) for acing the challenge!
Thanks for all these delicious posts
et pour finir le réveillon, une bûchette de chez Gérard Mulot ?

Mini-buche noel at Gerard Mulot?
So much going on today. I can’t scan the internet for cake clues. Tres triste.
Ack. I should read more carefully! 2e its definitely Stohrer! And I still think those little mini cakes are buche de noel.
